Our Goals

At Sprout, we’re passionate about creating new technology whilst working towards a world that we are proud to be a part of.

We believe that sustainability is about enhancing our world, today and tomorrow. To do this, we are focused on understanding and managing the ways we impact the environment and the communities that we are part of.

Our sustainability program looks at the impact of our end-to-end product value chain. This includes sourcing materials and packaging, product design and manufacture, transport, office operations, distribution, the way our products are used, and their end-of-life disposal.

Through our Environmental and Sustainability working group, Sprout’s approach to sustainability includes setting targets for improving our operations and impact; and an action plan to achieve these targets. Using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to guide our actions, our focus is prioritised around:

  • Sustainable Development Goal 12 – Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
  • Sustainable Development Goal 13 - Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

Our Plan

Sprout is on a journey of continuous improvement when it comes to our impact on the world around us. These are just the first steps in our ten-year sustainability action plan and we’re excited to work with our customers and community to explore how we can do better.

Our plan works to address key elements of our value chain and includes initiatives such as:

  1. Sourcing recyclable materials for packaging
  2. Working with suppliers to address modern slavery risks
  3. Adjusting our transport methods to reduce reliance on high-carbon transportation such as air freight
  4. Designing more sustainable products includes multi-use and eco-friendly products
  5. Offsetting our impact via campaigns, such as our partnership with One Tree Planted
  6. Working to reduce landfill through customer education and recycling of materials
  7. Exploring environmentally-friendly plastics to use in product manufacture
  8. ISO 14001 certification (achieved in March 2021).
